The ability to persuade and inspire is essential in business, and you do that by the words and sentences you use. In this 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭, I share three tips on effective communication: think in headlines, employ short sentences, and use simple words. Have a listen here.
The need for social connection
What makes a good coach?
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡? This is the question Rob Hartnett asked me, whilst chatting recently on his podcast. For me it's about psychological safety. Creating an environment where people feel safe to be themselves. But I began by saying it was about '𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯' and '𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺'. I want to be clear here - you don't necessarily have to be friends with your coach, or even like them particularly, to get value, but you do need to trust that they have your back, and can help you. I'm curious though... what do you think?

We discussed how to use Difference to make a difference...to make systemic change toward a safer, fairer, more inclusive world.

Work Rhythm
I have working rhythm. It's more like a work/life 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝. As a business owner my work and life ebb and flow into each other to help me deliver for my clients. For me, the key to sustaining my working rhythm is to understand my energy. How do I work best, when do I work best, on what projects do I work best and with whom do I work best.
