𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡? This is the question Rob Hartnett asked me, whilst chatting recently on his podcast. For me it's about psychological safety. Creating an environment where people feel safe to be themselves. But I began by saying it was about '𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯' and '𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺'. I want to be clear here - you don't necessarily have to be friends with your coach, or even like them particularly, to get value, but you do need to trust that they have your back, and can help you. I'm curious though... what do you think?
