Is now the right time to be investing in Women in Leadership programs?

Great interview with Louise Weine of NAWO Aired on 20 July 2020.

Q: Is now the right time to be investing in Women in Leadership programs?

This was one of the questions posed to me in an interview with Louise Weine, Director of NAWO and podcaster extraordinaire.

"The world is in crisis; we have a pandemic gripping our nations, looming recessions and on-going social protests. Should we still invest in women?"

Of course, you know my answer was yes! (I do run Women in Leadership programs....in case you hadn't heard - PS the next one is on Sept 7/9 Sept- shameless plug alert!)

My response: "It's easy to 'cut' when times are hard. But if you CAN still invest, you will create a massive compounding effect in terms of a cultural return on your investment."

Continuing to invest in your top strategic priorities cements your corporate integrity and deepens the trust of your stakeholders. It also shows...

1/ You're not just 'ticking boxes', you invest even when it's hard

2/ You use disruption as an advantage, not a deterrent

3/ The women, shareholders, leaders, customers, waiting for you to deliver on your promise, are not disappointed - their loyalty creates the compounding cultural effect that magnifies your investment.

I'm curious....do you think disruption is a good time to challenge the status quo, or a bad time?

What can we be doing to keep the gender agenda alive during tough times?
