I recently joined the That’s Audacious podcast with the wonderful Lauren Clemett for a conversation about communication, leadership, and the very human dynamics that shape how we connect at work.
One of the things we explored is why communication can’t be reduced to scripts and soundbites.
Communication is alive. It’s shifting and changing in every moment we are with another person. It’s contextual, relational, and extremely dynamic.
This is why scripts are not enough. Knowing what to say is only half the skill. The rest is about reading the room, understanding the other person, and recognising what the moment actually needs from us.
We also spoke about:
Building cultures of conversation
Psychological safety and bystanding
The evolution of my work over the last 20 years
Why dialogue drives results more than directives ever will
